Just the facts…
With only a few weeks left until the NYC marathon, I was doing a little checking out of my body to see what kind of progress I have made so far….
So far, since I have been training, I can maintain my long runs at about 9:45….
This is about a minute less per mile than I ran my best marathon at. The thing is, I have gotten stronger and stronger with each long run and I haven’t been pushing myself during any of these long runs.
So I can actually imagine getting to the marathon and hitting 9:30 or less per mile, which would be pretty fantastic.
As far as my being in the best shape goes, I have been in pretty good shape before, but I have lost 14.4 pounds since I started training for the marathon. That’s pretty good and I would imagine since I have tweaked my diet a little bit, I will more than likely continue to drop weight until I get to a weight that I feel is right for me and my running habit.
Other things, I have decided that I am going to run the 60K in Central Park on November 15th. Since the 14th is my birthday, I think this will be a good 34th birthday present to myself.
And that is really about it for me for now.
